DCRLI Graduate Program Description (Master of Business Administration)
Since virtually everyone participates in some form of leisure, the primary benefit of Cultural Resources and Leisure Industries (DCRLI) is to address quality of life issues. The unique interaction of people, places, and activities establish our profession as one of the world’s largest industries. Students learn how to manage leisure service delivery systems by combining theory with practice. This degree is designed to prepare students for advanced positions in the leisure and tourism profession or admission into doctoral programs.
DCRLI Master Requirements
Students in the proposed degree program must at least meet the general requirements set forth by the National Taitung University Graduate School for the M.B.A. degrees.
Candidacy
To be accepted as a candidate for the degree, an applicant must possess an undergraduate degree and academic performance that displays a breadth and depth of university education in social, behavioral, mathematical and natural science, and major-specific course work.
Plan of Study
The M.B.A. is a research-based degree, usually completed in four semesters of study. The student is expected to work closely with a faculty supervisor to develop a research study and corresponding coursework, with the approval of a graduate committee.

Following proposal approval by the committee, the student conducts the research and completes the thesis paper. The student then defends the completed study in a scheduled open forum, followed by committee action to pass or fail the thesis defense.
Non-Thesis Option

Following approval, the student completes the project. The student then defends the completed project in a scheduled open forum, followed by committee action to pass or fail the project defense.
